Community Service

Rewarding opportunities to fulfill community service

We collaborate with the Youth Service Bureau and Adult Probation Officers, who placed youth and adults with us, to fulfill court ordered community service.  Youth who perform court ordered community service, gain skills, feel valued, and benefit from the mentoring they receive.
 
Stone Soup also provides an opportunity for youth to fulfill their service obligations for confirmation classes, National Honor Society, ROTC, Scouting Organizations, etc., thereby helping them build values, through education and volunteerism to serve their communities.  We invite all interested youth and adults to utilize this rewarding opportunity.

Quick community service facts

From January through October this year we provided goods valued at *$114,987.75 (55% of inventory) to 473 children, 441 adults, 44 seniors, and the community.  *(Included were goods weighing 9,228 lbs. and 308 additional pieces of furniture).  Of those served, 116 persons were homeless.
