Why Donate To Stone Soup?

Stone Soup helps families and individuals trying to stretch their budgets, and persons lacking the funds to purchase basic needs.  Free goods provided for persons lacking funds include: clothing, household merchandise, furniture, and many other items we handle.

How has Stone Soup helped during 2009?

With the slump in the economy, there are more people in our community that need our help than ever before.  We are in the coldest part of the Minnesota winter and are seeing an increase in the number of people who are walking through our doors in need of items to make it through.

Stone Soup coordinates services with local food shelves, and social service agencies, and offers the free support of good quality donated clothing, furniture, and household goods at no charge to families and individuals.

During 2009 we provided, free, over $80,000 worth of goods to families and individuals who did not have the means to purchase.  This served 876 individuals: 356 adults, 496 children, and 24 seniors.  Of these, 196 were homeless persons.

- Court Ordered Community Service:  148 youth and adults completed 4,394.45 service hours.
- Volunteer Support:  59 individuals donated 6,823.06 service hours

In addition there are always free goods, in bins, as customers enter the store.  If you like what we are doing, please donate to support Stone Soup’s mission.
